Colorful Operation by Kylie F.
I
remember lying on the kitchen table, my chubby two year old self. Wearing a
ratty, stained, floral t-shirt paired with blue jean overalls; my five year
old big brother holding the florescent flashlight and my concerned mother on
the sidelines. Surgeon daddy looking over his frightened young with computer
tools in hand ready to perform the surgical removal. Looking back on the
rambunctious kid I was, what was I thinking shoving a jumbo fascia Crayola
crayon up my left nostril? But I suppose my mother never told me that crayons
weren’t meant for excessive sniffing.
